She is a Disease Intervention Specialist and a Public Health Specialist with the DC Department of Health HIV/AIDS Administration. Ms. Jones has received many Presidential Awards including Youth Education on Health Awareness, USA Track & Field Awards on Health Education, and Boys & Girls Club Awards on health issues dealing with children. She is a National Black College Reunion Presenter on Health Education, a member of the Black Golfer’s Committee on Health Education for Children. She is the CEO of Celebrities for Health Justice and a member of the Black Professional Health Educators. Ms. Jones is an educator and trainer on HIV/AIDS. She is currently working with the Nigerian Government on HIV/AIDS issues. Ms. Jones is also known as Dr. Love Jones (Dr. Abby) for magazines in additional to sex, health, body, and mind education. She received a Hip Hop Award for bringing artists into the community for social awareness. She is a member of the Women of the Music Industry Committee. Betty has also received awards from Howard University’s Health and Science Department, an 830AM WHBC Radio Station Award, and a volunteer award working with Katrina victims. Ms. Jones is a senior event coordinator for Day 1 Productions Inc. and the CEO of Star Magnet Inc. DJ Leggs: The Million DJ March Panels AUGUST 29TH FRIDAY 4 PM - 6PM @ THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB
Providence, Rhode Island’s DJ Leggs will coordinate The Million DJ March Panel discussion board during the preceedings of the main event. Many Prominent DJ and artistic personalities will confront subject matters concerning DJ Technology, The Legacy of The Mix Tape, DJ Politics, and The History and Importance of The DJ In Hip Hop. The panels will be short seminars on August 29th, 2008 and August 30th, 2008 with plenty of press coverage and interaction from the crowd. We will address a wide array of criteria concerning elements in hip hop culture mainly covering the DJ aspect but not limited to the cultural surroundings of the urban art forms that have transcended within the past 40+ years.
